A Little Light Surgery

It’s been decade since I’ve stood here,
Cracking electricity through the quiet chill.
A clandestine reminder
Of things stuck to my psyche.
I clamber over the feelings delicately;
back-track my way through time,
land in the clearing of a park.
Cold sinking sharply into my skin-
Like the edge of a chilled metal can.
The sound of cackling laughter
Sticking to my lungs.
My heart two sluggish, pumping chambers
Inhibited by the past.
